(Nasdaq: OPNT), the leading provider of intelligent network management software, today announced that it has fully acquired WDM NetDesign B.V.B.A., a Belgium-based software company with world-class expertise in optical network design. The new entity, OPNET Technologies B.V.B.A., is based in Ghent, Belgium. The Belgium team will initially focus on further development and sales of OPNET's new WDM Guru product, as well as continued research and development of optical network design algorithms to be used in OPNET's products, including Netbiz and SP Guru. WDM NetDesign B.V.B.A. was formed in August 2001 by OPNET and Comsof, two leaders in their respective fields. Comsof, a Belgium-based software company specializing in optical network design, transferred the development team and all intellectual property for its commercial software products to WDM NetDesign.
