Pre-Sales Engineers–Network and App. Mgmt Software
Pre-Sales Engineers are expert users of OPNET, and work with the world's leading enterprises, government agencies, telecommunications manufacturers and service providers to apply the latest networking technologies and to better understand the technologies of tomorrow. Articulate the value and power of OPNET solutions in a wide range of scenarios, taking advantage of your engineering and communication skills.
Paired with a sales team, Pre-sales Engineers are the technical experts who interface with potential clients and do any technical work needed to "win the deal". Responsibilities include demonstrations, in-depth explanations of product functionality, implementation support, "proof-of-concept" projects and training. Extensive customer contact is required, both in-house and on site. Pre-sales Engineers are also the technical leaders at seminars, conferences, presentations, demos, and other customer-interaction events.
Depending on which products you support, your tools will include the OPNET products themselves, a solid understanding of networking protocols and architectures, strong customer-interaction skills, and last but not least, a competitive spirit causing you to want to win every client engagement! You will be on the front lines of technical sales in a highly technical industry.
Bonus compensation is awarded as a function of success.Qualifications
Here is what you should bring to the table:
- BS/MS in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is preferred
- Strong knowledge of modern networking technology including: TCP/IP, routing, and application behavior.
- Experience with protocol analyzers and knowledge of router and switch configuration is preferred.
- Multi-lingual candidates preferred with strong verbal and written English, and verbal fluency in another European language.
- Willingness to travel, interact and work directly with customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication ability, including technical presentation skills.
- Must be motivated to have an impact on our products, our company, and the state of the art.
